School Community Breakfasts 2018
For the fourth year in a row, the Bridgewater-Raritan Education Association created an opportunity for the entire primary and intermediate school communities of students, parents, teachers, and educational support professionals to get together. We believe there is no better way than to enjoy a stress-free morning of conversation over breakfast before we all go along with our busy daily schedules. Typical parent/teacher interactions are directly related to their children’s individual performance at school. However, this event provides a great opportunity for conversation of school/educational topics of our district to take place, and for families and staff to converse with each other about daily life. Simply…we want everyone to find time to get to know each other just a little bit better and strengthen the educational community at Bridgewater-Raritan.
The breakfast events take place in the cafeteria at each school an hour before the school day begins. Each breakfast consists of everything from eggs, bacon, fruit, bagels, etc. There is no cost for the event, but parents are able to donate to the school PTO if they wish.
The events at each school are fully funded through a NJEA PRIDE grant on behalf of the BREA. The NJEA PRIDE program was created to help to strengthen the community support and involvement in education and celebrate in the successes of public education. The BREA sponsors events throughout the entire year on school and district levels from our involvement in club activities, Special Olympics, Teacher for a Day, and many more.
